Protein: Building and Repairing Tissue

These macronutrients do not compete; they cooperate. A practical way to build a diet is to set them in order:

  • First, total energy. Match calories to your goal, whether maintaining, gaining or losing.

  • Third, carbohydrate. Scale it to fuel your training load.
